Nas Academy is a tech-ed startup that’s based in Singapore, Dubai, and more recently Los Angeles. My internship lasted for six months between September of 2021 and March of 2022, where I mainly worked with the design team. Giving the fast paced nature of a startup, my tasks during that time varied from wireframing & prototyping to user research & interviews depending on the project in hand.
Although I worked on many different tasks and projects throughout my internship, my overarching focus was conducting and streamlining user research for my team. This included leading user interviews, pulling insights from the interviews to influence the design, and developing a comprehensive system of templates for user research for other members of the team to use as a guide.
I worked with the Community Operation team (COPs) to identify users who match our initially set personas. Additionally, I created pre- and post-interview email templates that other members of my team used as reference, and helped establish a centralized space to keep track of the users we reached out to and their corresponding insights.
I led many user interviews, took notes, and kept track of the findings. I wrote interview questionnaire scripts as well as created interview script templates that can be customized depending on the research objective.
I used Design Thinking principles and frameworks to turn interesting and unexpected findings into actionable insights to improve the design. We generally had a fast turnaround time since deadlines were often tight.
